15 Oct (Elgin) Marbles must stay

Sir,

Dr Domingue (letters, Oct 13) suggests copying the Elgin Marbles and sending the originals east. Common sense suggests sending the replicas instead. In my lifetime, Greece has been dominated by commnists and fascists. Now it is broke and volatile: not the place to send fragile art.
